I need to research a friends website to find out where his website ranks in Google based on the different keywords associated with his website (does that make sense - wow!) Any help would be greatly appreciated.|||Keep in mind that how your friend's site ranks is going to vary based on a number of factors. Google results are in constant flux and what you see is likely different from what someone in another state sees, even someone sitting next to you at the office! Google is striving for a more "personalized search" experience, so for example if I search for "beetle" and have recently been looking online at Volkswagen cars or doing some car research, I will probably see more auto results than someone else who may see results about insects, etc.
With that in mind, there are some free tools you can use. Here are a couple that should help:

http://tools.seobook.com/general/advanced-rank-checker/
I'm also assuming that your friend has carefully considered how his potential visitors will search for what his site has to offer, and that the goal is not only to rank high at Google but to drive qualified traffic to the site? :)|||If you have access to your friend's FTP account, a great tool to use is Google Analytics.
Just do a search for 'Google Analytics' on Google.
The next tool to use is SEODIGGER. This tells you what terms you have ranking, their position, and the amount of traffic the term gets in Overture and Wordtracker.

This should give you the page rank of the page (Google ranks pages - not web sites)|||http://www.doggydomains.com has a package called traffic blazer that helps you select keywords based on actual search data, optimize your site, and submit it to search engines.
