What is the difference in broad match, phrase match and exact match data for Google search terms?

When I use keyword research tools such as Market Samurai and it gives me a search figure for the number of "exact match" searches for a keyword term, does that mean that number of people are actually searching for that term in brackets on Google?|||Broad match uses the words in any order and even accepts words that sound sort of the same. Phrase match gives the words in the order you typed them, so Market Samurai is different then Samurai Market. And exact searches for just the words you typed.|||i don't know
