I've looked on google keyword tool and a keyword i want as 50,000 searches a month. GREAT but then i went onto google and searched the same word to see what sites were on the first couple of pages and had a look on website outlook to see what sort of numbers they have only to find that everybody on the first couple of pages is getting 50-150 daily page views... How does that work? I expected twice that many visitors let alone page views!|||It takes more than just that one keyword. It is ranked by many other factor, most of them controlled by Google for revenue.|||It would seem to me that someone's numbers are wrong. Either the keyword is getting less than 50,000 searches a month or the sites are getting more that 150 page views per day.
Studies done by different compamies, organizations show that the first three organic search positions will get the most searches. A good match for a keyword in the number one position should get well over 80% of search responses. So just the number one position should yield at least 1000 hits per day.
