I am looking for any tools and tricks which may help me put together a solid SEO campaign - in the past, I used Overture's bid tool (now extinct) to help expose keywords and traffic trends. Google's Adwords tool is OK, but it does not report much for the niche terms which relate to my site, and its "suggested terms" are far too general to target.
Are there any tools which have worked well for you?
Any strategies you might recommend?|||Hi
the most effective strategy is to know your market, the sector your clients work in and the jargon they use - this will influence your keyword strategy. another method I have used is to look at competitor sites and explore their keyword strategy!!
SEO of this nature should be no different from any other marketing strategy and this is about knowing your customers and their requirements.
good luck.|||Have you tried webmaster tools. You can track top searches data and which place your site is in respect to the searches performed. This should give you what/which keywords users are searching for, where your site appears and if users click on your site or no. Sorry if this is again too generic an answer, but this has helped me optimize my site better. Tell me if you need more info on this.|||I highly suggest that you take a strong look at http://www.tobuildyour.com

They have a program in place that can help you optimize your content and a Brainstorm program that will show you the traffic trends.
You can get a definite and detailed answer to your question:
For example, does "green and blue widgets with dongles" get more traffic than "purple and blue widgets with dongles"?
The answer is part of the program.
I hope this helps.
BEST WISHES!
