I'm trying to understand what methods others are using when looking for keywords. I'm using google's traffic estimator and keyword tool, however, it doesn't seem to be very reliable when relating back to keywords that actually get traffic. Can anyone please help me out and let me know what you are using? I would be willing to put a link to your site for the advice.|||You can use the Word Tracker and still use the Google Keyword Tool. Just try solving your KEI (Keyword Effective Index). KEI is the most accurate for keyword searches.
KEI= P^2/C|||Social Media Expert is right about market samurai. When you are typing keywords into the google keyword tool, make sure to have "use synonyms" checked.
The general idea is for you to begin your search with a single keyword, then find a two-part keyword from that list, then use the two-part keyword to re-generate some results and hopefully find some three-part or "longtail" keywords than have both traffic and low competition.
This is a lot easier said than done though, I wish you the best of luck with your keyword selection.|||Just list your competitor list or research the TOP 20 niche toppers.
