Not Set data in Google Analytics?

If l look at a specific html page in Google Analytics and use the segment tool to display the keywords that resulted in visitors arriving at this particular page l receive a (not set) result that accounts for just over 50% of the overall keywords.

It doesn't seem to make a difference which page l view l still get this section entitled (not set).

How can l prevent this from coming up so that l can get accurate results otherwise Google Analytics will be useless for me?!|||maybe you should consider an alternative

Traffic reporting tools

There are a few traffic reporting tools to see your web site traffic. I will mention 3 that I like

1. The software that is used by your hosting company.

Your hosting company might have webTrends or similar software. I prefer these, since they are accurate and show you (almost) everything.

2. Google analytics - a very popular solution and rightfully so.

You can register here http://www.google.com/analytics/. The reports are for savvy users and the new reporting version is even more complicated. Overall this is a wonderful (free) solution.

3. Another solution in Beta is "Enquire", you can find it here Enquisite.

It gives you great reports, but only about traffic that came from search engines. There is nothing about traffic that came from "referring sites".

You can have them all or just one.

They are all good traffic reporting tools.

Where did Google's Traffic Estimator go?

Currently trying to get keyword stats and found that Google's Traffic Estimator Sandbox has a login preceding use of the tool.

Anyone know if this is an intentional move by Google? I wouldn't be surprised... now they can link all search term research to Google adwords buyers!

Ideas/thoughts... am I becoming too paranoid of Google's unyielding (desire for total) power?

Here's my TES bookmark:

YouTube Keyword Research question?

On YouTube videos - should you do keyword research putting the same titles and data in as you find on Adwords tool?

Eg: if a term gets searched for a lot on Google - is there a good chance it also does on Youtube?|||Yes it is necessary to do keyword research and you should add tag in such a way that it goes well|||Maybe just use the "main thought" .. coz it is harder to search in youtube than google

Google voice for iphone doesn't integrate with iphone contacts?

Why does the google voice for iphone app NOT integrate with the iphone contacts? Please don't say to use the "quick dial" because that's a sad and pathetic excuse for a list of contacts.

So - end result is that when we make calls from this iphone we can't easily do it using our contacts list *AND* ensure that the recipient of the call sees our Google voice number. The keyword here is "easy". We should just open the Google Voice app, select a CONTACT (not a quick dial entry), and be on our way with making a call that will display our Google Voice number to the recipient.

So pathetic for what could have been a good tool. Please tell me there is a better way.|||Try this:

Connect your iPhone to iTunes. Click on your iPhone on the left column. this will take you to your iPhone settings. Click INFO on the main window. Under Contacts, select Sync Contacts with {Google Contacts} Click Configure to add your Google account. This will take your iPhone contacts and put them into Google Contacts.

Why isn't my site getting anywhere in google?

Hey, I put my site together about a month ago.

I hired a couple of writers, bought plenty of pictures, and work on it everyday - so the content is good.

I added my site to my google screen name, and I've already gone through the webmaster tool checklist.

I also have lots of links (including a few youtube videos, hubpages, and ezines).

Even after all of that, I'm not getting anywhere on google searches.

On the google webmaster tools, it still says I have zero links, zero search queries, zero impressions, and zero keywords.|||I doesn't look like you have a sitemap. Try adding a XML Sitemap to your site.

How are you tracking your visitors? You can try Google Analytics.

It takes a while if your site is not unique in your field.|||This may be because Google has not registered your site yet. 2 years ago I was working for a Website developer and each site took about 2.5 months to get a registration completed. When you sign up for webmaster you are agreeing to allow Google to put your site onto their search results. They may decline it later. Wait some time and keep in contact with them.

WHY GOOGLE CANT FIND ME?

my website is www.hotelinisrael.net my keyword is ( hotel in israel )

im more then 2 months on air i did make optimization, im 4 in yahoo im 4 in bing and altavista ext....and i dont know where im in google i just know that im ranked 1/10 in google.

i have all google webmaster tools and work with them all!!! im more then 1000 unique visitors a month, more then 7000 page views and the rank for google is not listed

i did submet my website and nothing have problems ,only couple of web pages eror befor one year from the last domain that was't main|||I would also optimize for the terms:

"Israel Hotel" "hotel israel" "Israel Hotels" and "hotels israel". Have these in your page titles, headings, images, and page descriptions.

And also popular towns and cities, example "(city) hotel" and "hotel (city)"

Have a blog and update it regularly. Your host should have fantastico and let you add a Wordpress blog.

Your keywords at the moment are:

"hotel in Israel, Israel, city guide, jerusalem, haifa, review, map, tours,h鈥?hotel"

Add a space after each comma, and add "Israel Hotel" and "hotel israel" (and hotels)

Also, type Google Keyword Tool into Google, and then type all the above keywords into the tool, to see what the most popular keywords are. When typing into Google "Hotels Israel" for example, Google gave me the option of adding Tel Aviv, North, Dead Sea or Discount to the phrase, (among others). So you will need to optimise for all those too.

You could also write articles and submit them to popular article or free blog sites, such as Squidoo and Blogger (owned by Google - hint hint!)

Also make your site a link and add it to as many places as you can.

http://www.hotelinisrael.net

There I did it for you.

Well done for having your keywords in the domain. That is a BIG SEO plus!

But the travel industry is hugely competitive, especially online. You are also competing with thousands of other affiliates.

You will get listed though, don't worry.|||It takes google while to process the queue. If your site enables bots/crawlers they'll eventually get to you. But remember, google sorts based on the relevance of your keywords to the the text they find on your page. Thats how they detect good content vs spam. I know waiting isnt fun, but its worth it.

Good luck!|||I'd suggest you to add your website to Google Webmasters - http://www.google.com/webmasters/ and see if you can see any warnings or messages regarding your website.

Keywords and SEO help?

I'm trying to understand what methods others are using when looking for keywords. The general idea is for you to begin your search with a single keyword, then find a two-part keyword from that list, then use the two-part keyword to re-generate some results and hopefully find some three-part or "longtail" keywords than have both traffic and low competition.

This is a lot easier said than done though, I wish you the best of luck with your keyword selection.|||Just list your competitor list or research the TOP 20 niche toppers. How to seo my website to be number 1 on Google?

So i started optimizing my website a month ago and 1 month later it only just got indexed on google. So far i have 3 of my pages on google but not the main page. My front page is indexed on yahoo and bing but not any other pages. I submitted a sitemap to google and it was succesfully accepted and 3/15 links are indexed. I succesfully submited it to google yahoo bing and dmoz. It shows up on all of them except dmoz. I vefied with google with and without www. I i submitted to alexa and was accepted. The website has quality info easy for humans and crawlers.

Ive done just about everything on google webmaster tools although its only been a month and i dont know what else to do. I also put several ads on kijiji and craiglist and its on google maps.

I have yet to write articles, make youtube videos, mention it on forums and yahoo answers.

I dont know what to do anymore any tips or anything else that is very useful to get me to number 1 google for cleaning services?

Or should i just wait for the search engines to do more crawling?|||I check the following keywords in your area in Google:

Janitorial services

You company site did not show up for the Google Map top 7... this my friend is a requirement for any business. Also you site was no were to be found for any of those keywords. Here is the good news..the competition for this market in Markham is not that difficult... with the right approach you could dominate this area online.

Your site is not yet indexed by Google it shows a N/A and you only have no back links according to yahoo....

Here is one tip: Make a youtube video make sure to:

1. title is your key word cleaning services Markham

2. in the youtube description start with http://your url

3. Social Bookmark your youtube url with at least 30+ sites.. and also submit your RSS youtube to an aggregator... In 1-3 days your youtube site will be on page one for the key word... cleaning services Markham.

Next I would work on getting in the google map top 7.. I checked the competition.. not that hard if you know what you are doing..

Are you an SEO person? Or in the cleaning business? If you are in the cleaning business I specialize in local geographic SEO for business..feel free to e-mail or skype me if you want a free 20 minute consultation. My company only gets paid when we get your phone to ring... we do not charge to build your sites.. do your youtube videos... get you in google maps.. we are that good at what we do that we can purely on cost per phone call.. the more qualified phone calls you get and close the more money we both make....

Maybe if you put all this money and energy into actually advertising you'd get more customers.|||Firstly don't expect to win overnight. Look for search terms your competition don't have and try to use keyword phrases visitors may type into Google. Write more pages to your site using different key words on each page. Don't cram loads of keywords onto one page. Set up blog pages on your site and discuss what and where you work and any other news relevant to your business.

Make yourself visible online in forums answering blogs in your line of business and profiles on LinkedIn, Facebook and bookmarking sites. Each should be unique, never copy text you have elsewhere also any free ads should not be duplicated and encourage reviews on your Google places.

try and get your own domain and your site will be listed in less than 3 weeks.

Which is accurate, Google.com or Google Global?

Hi Everyone,

I would like to ask if which is the real accurate for checking the ranking of your keywords? I have been using some tool like Free Monitor for Google by Clever Stat and the ranking shows different with Google Global.

Keyword research - worth to use this keywords ?

Hi I`m new to keywords and affiliate marketing.

I`we found a keyword (key phrase) with the following stats (I`m using google adwords tools):

10.000 global monthly searches for the exact phrase

5.500 global monthly searches for the keyword

14,000,000 results for the keyword

65,000 results for the exact keyword phrase

So worth creating a website for the keyword ?

GOOGLE ANALYTICS QUESTION?

Some months ago.. google allowed users to ad a code to the their source page which allowed me to 'drill' down into a campaign I am tracking, then further into groups and then into the groups wherein I could view my keywords that are in my Google Adwords groups. From here, I could set parameter to 'user defined'. This would allow me to see the actual keyword searches customers were typing which were linking up to my ad group keywords.

This is an amazing tool for parsing out negative keywords to ad to groups as well as new positive performing keywords to ad. I have been paying about $400 a month for a software named ClickLab. We started setting up all of our marketing campaigns to be tracked by Google Analytics: Yahoo, MSN and a host of marketing feeds = Price Graber, Google Products, Shopzilla etc.

I swear at first I could drill down to the levels described above with for all of those accounts; I had told my employer he could drop ClickLab since we now had that level of scrutiny for free through Analytics. Now.. I can only drill down into Google groups. I can now only drill down as far as group level for all non google campaigns. Furthermore.. I can no longer get ecommerce data for non google campaigns = conversion rate, revenue per conversion and conversions.

1) What's the point of them allowing us to track other campaigns if we can't see performance stats?

2) Is anyone out there familiar with this scenario?

3) Does anyone know how to get around to doing with my non google campaigns what I can now only do with google groups = get down to the level where I can view actual customer keyword searches?|||Hi,

For non-adwords campaigns, Google analytics can only capture the data that you are passing to them by tagging your destination url's.

For all these non-adwords campaigns, Google analytics show you the keywords customers actually typed in get to your ads. However, if you want to see the keywords you used in the campaigns and the keywords customers actually typed, so that you can figure out the negative keywords you need to use, there is a trick you can use. Google AdWords Help. 10 PTS BEST ANSWER.?

I have a resume writing business and I advertise on Google Adwords. I had my account suspended because I had used more than 1 voucher on 2 accounts (I read online I could), but I guess I was wrong. Well they unsuspended my account yesterday (12/4) and I had my ads running last night and today (12/5). My budget ran out so I upped my budget. Here comes my 1st question (IF YOU CAN'T ANSWER ALL OF MY QUESTIONS, I WILL BE HAPPY WITH ANY ANSWER)...does the budget change take effect the next day? Next...I did the keyword diagnostic tool and it said "your ads aren't running, please contact us" (this was after my budget ran out and I upped it). Why is it doing this? Google Adwords doesn't have a contact line (google in general doesn't), which I think is absolutely RIDICULOUS! Google is the #1 website and they don't have a customer contact line (well one that you can speak to a live person). You email them and only get automated responses. I hate it. Google adwords brings me a lot of business so that is the only reason I am dealing with it, but it DRIVES ME CRAZY. I am just confused. Anyone else have similar problems? Will my ads run tomorrow (12/6)? Please help! 10 PTS BEST ANSWER. If you have done everything correctly - including setting the correct minimum bid, your ad should show up almost immediatley!

Regards,|||First, the budget change should take effect almost immediately.

Your ads aren't running could mean different things. I suspect it has something to do with your keywords and your site's content. If the Google spiders don't think the keywords are represented well in your site's content, you'll get a low "quality" score and you'll have to pay more for your keywords to trigger your ads.

Hope this helps.

Now sir please answers me the followings:

1) I can't submit my domain into web directories, 95% require resiprocal link

2) I can't make search engine optimization, Where i insert the meta keywords and meta description tags and where i insert the Google! Webmaster Tools's code that provide me to verify before index.

3) Most of the forum block me due to the submission of invalid domain (Park domains are not allowed)

4) If can't index my domain then what is PageRank and e.t.c.

The only way remain is to advertise my domain like CPC programs. (Like adwords).

PLEASE RESOLVE MY DOMAIN'S ADVERTISING ISSUE|||Google Adwords is like an advertising auction. YOU ARE HIGHLY UNLIKELY TO BE SEEN WITH 0.01 AS YOUR BID. There are many other businesses competing to advertise. Google would rather take 0.99 for a click rather than 0.01. The lower your bid, the less likely you are to appear on results.

Google has a tutorial on where to put meta tags, specifically your verification code. It's just another html tag you put AT THE TOP of your html coding in the %26lt;head%26gt; section.

You have to learn all guidelines of Google adwords. You set a budget according to time limit..whether you want to run the campaign for the day only or you want to run the campaign until your budget reaches at end.

WebSarga is one of the company which provides you all web development, promotion, seo, leads etc at very cheap rates|||Google is telling you that even though your ad and keywords are relevant to each other, they are not relevant to your website. I would also start a new campaign instead of using your present one. I would also suggest that you use keywords that are related to "Job Listings" rather then WAH Keywords. You are also probably going to have to raise your minimum bid. A strategy that I learned is to start with a high bid, in this case say $3.00 per click. Don't worry you won't be charged that much. Let it run until your daily budget is reached, then pause your ads until you are ready to resume the next day. The next day reset your max bid to what the avg CPC was the day before. It will be less then $3.00. Follow this procedure and in about a week your CPC will have dropped to a more resonable cost without affecting your ad position.

Niches and searches? Ugh...blog ideas?

Hello everyone!

Just a few words about myself before I ask, so that you know how to answer.

I am a college student who is very computer savvy, and I like to create web pages as well as articles and things, especially about my hobbies and such.

Now, as we all know, college is coming all too soon, and once I go back, I will be out of work and unable to work, I am taking 19 credit hours spread out over all times of the day, and so I hoped to make money with my blogs using Google ad-sense and things like that. However, the topics I write about are usually way too broad, and so I was thinking I would go into a much more narrow niche so that I could generate more traffic, since I could never compete with the top results on my current niches.

I know there's the keyword tool from google, which is great! However... how can I tell which keywords I should base my new niche around? Keywords that get only 50-100 searches a month seem too low to care about, and niches that get 50k plus seem way too hard to compete with. Should I aim for keywords with 1k searches or something?

I would be so happy to make anything like 10 dollars a day, just something to help me get by.

In any case, thank you very much for any time spent answering this.|||You are very correct in your thinking. Most people just aim for the highest keywords, which, usually, they cannot compete with. In your case I would go for around 20K on a few keywords you know lots about.

The key to competing on keywords is basically getting a higher pagerank than they're getting. To do this you need several backlinks. Which could be easy in your case since you write. Submit some (or all) of your writings to article directories with a link back to your blog. This will not only increase your traffic, but also your search engine rank. Try also commenting on other blogs and forums (watch out for no-follow links - see source), again with a link back to your blog. I suggest implementing Google Adsense from the beginning. Once you have a nice visitor-base you'll start earning some money. Depending on your keywords and niche you can also try selling products as an affiliate or CPA offers. This does require some work, it's not a walk in the park and you should be willing to spend at least an hour or two a day to promote and add quality content to your blog. If you follow these steps correctly I assure you, you will make more than $10 a day.

I hope this helps and if you need additional, more personalized help, feel free to ask me at the forum in the source.

Google no longer has my page in the index?

My webpage used to rank high on google when given a set of search words. It actually climbed up to the first position. then, suddenly, the main index.html page no longer appears. The rest of my website pages may appear for the same keywords, but are not ranked high. I tried using the Google webmaster tools, and i'm sure that my page is NOT at all in the index (i.e. i'm sure it will never show up even as the millionth hit). i tried submitting a sitemap but no change. The only changes I made to the front page, is that I call a php script (as part of %26lt;IMG SRC="temp.php"%26gt; from an IMG source that increments a counter and logs the ip address. I know it's a little bass-ackwards but in Google I use the Campaign manager tools under campaign settings you have the ability to plug in different values (bids per thousand impressions or bids per clickthrough depending on type of ad chosen) for keywords and it gives you estimated traffic, or have Google suggest a value based on a cumulative set of keywords. But, alas, you have to sign up for Google Adwords and possibly Google Analytics, but it doesn't cost much until you actually start running ads of course.

As far as Yahoo and MSN, you're on your own there as I haven't messed around with ads through either one yet. Overture is sounding really good to me right now though!

Best answer full points !!!!|||Of course you need to emphasize the keyword you want to rank for in article's body text , header, meta title, and maybe in image file names and alt text, in a reasonably natural readable way. That's really the biggest on site seo factor a smaller should bother with.

The biggest ranking factor is the number and quality of links from other sites, while search engines try to only credit links they believe are truly made as a vote for your site's worth, a good number of links are acquired in various ways behind the scenes, out of the sight of the search engines, you might spend some money getting assistance in creating these backlinks. The ideal link would be a mention of your site on a highly ranked page, with a link including your target keyword in anchor text, such a link might be the result of your getting to write a guest article for this site, perhaps in exchange for some favors on your part.

More commonly you will be getting relatively low quality links in blog comments, and forum post signatures and profile home page links. Submitting original articles to artice directories, like ezinearticles have a bit more value than the easy to get junk links that some software robots can generate thousands in a day.

Back to some point... try examining those higher ranked sites' backlinks with tools like https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/ (Use "Except this Domain", "All Pages" options)

DROP SHIPPING ON GOOGLE ADWORDS?

Hi,

I'm trying to source a product that I can advertise on a website and make some money over Xmas.

We have tried a few things so far and failed mainly due to high competition. We tried again with some hats that were low competitiveness and got a 1st place spot on google, great we thought. We used up nearly 拢100.00 in advertising and made approx 7 sales resulting in a big loss.

We are now deciding what to try next but we are thinking that the same thing will happen again... either we get lots of clicks and no sales or we get out wiped with competitiveness.

We are using ad-words keyword tool which is somewhat useful and we are trying to sell one product that people want where there are little or none variations of it (for example if you sell a panda hat there are hundreds of styles but if you sell a control pad for the ps3 there is only 1 style so you are more targeted) I think we have learnt that most CPC will cost us around 拢0.45 so 拢45.00 budget a day will give us 100 visitors and if we are selling the right product should result in 30 sales out of 100. We also know that the product we try sell should result in at least 拢15.00 profit per item so that we can make some money after advertising.

Does it matter if the competitiveness is high when the CPC is only 拢0.40? or should we be looking for Low comp with low CPC but high searches? It seems no matter what you try and sell there's always some factory/site there who can sell cheaper than you. People have told us try eBay but we think its too cut throat competition on there and the fees are too high...in my opinion ebay is only good for selling unwanted stuff.

Is there anything that we are missing? maybe you have a good idea to share? But any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks if you spend the time to answer this one|||Hi there you could advertise you website and pay $15 for 1000 visits or you can get a better package it is only a low price becasue it is a new website so the prices will go up soon take a look

Can somebody be nice and ?explain this to me as if I were five?|||Google uses a combination of the max CPC you set in the system, and the click through rate on your ad to determine where your ad will rank on the page. Unlike Overture, ranking of ads is not based soley on how much you pay for each click. That's why it's impossible to determine exactly how much you're competitors are bidding. It's possible for someone to be paying a lower CPC and still appear higher than you on the page if their ad has a high click through rate. Google does this to give maximum exposure to the most relevant ads with the highest clicks throughs. Theoretically this improves the user experience.

Check this site out for a good overview of how the different PPC search engines work:https://adwords.google.com/select/Login|||1) choose your keywords (more popular words will cost more per click)

2) write your ads

3) set your budget (you can go as little as $5 per day. If each click costs .25 then you would get 20 clicks and your ads would stop for the day)

Unless your keywords are very popular, you may not even spend the $5 per day. Of course, the more popular the keywords, the more clicks you will get. However, they rarely let you run past that daily limit.

Question for SEO experts?

Hi,

I'm running an online business, and I get pretty great income. Now I want to take a dive into SEO. Of course I can get a lot of help online, but I want an expert's advice on how to start with it, and what exactly to do.

I am expert in on-page SEO, but I want more info on off-page SEO and social bookmarking.

Also, please let me know if there are some free tools to help me with that (I'm aware of Google Adwords Keyword tool only). I need someone to guide me. I'll be really grateful if I get some tips from the pros.

Thanks!|||When attaining backlinks (links to your website from other websites) it's important to focus on websites with high pageranks. Even if a website links to you and you're the only one they link to, if no one links to that website it's useless.

Alexa.com offers one of the most effective ways of getting link juice. Enter some of your competitor's websites into alexa.com and click sites linking in. You can see where they get most of their traffic, where they advertise, etc. It's a very simple, yet effective way of finding ways to get targeted traf

Another effective way of attaining targeted backlinks is to find websites of the same topic as your own that aren't direct competitors. For example: If you run a petstore, find a website talking about caring for pets that has a links page, and ask to be included in those links.

I've also listed some more generic websites designed to help websites like yours attain a higher pagerank.

Aboutus.org is a wiki to websites, allowing you to write an article about your website. If you write a professional sounding article, you can email them and get the "nofollow" tags removed, allowing Google to see you're linked to from them. http://www.aboutus.org/ProFollow

Joeant.com is a directory of websites, primarily shopping related. You can choose exactly the right section for your website to be added to, and get targeted visitors. Adding your url is only $40, or, if you choose, you can volunteer to become an editor of a category, and attempt to add your website for free. Doing it the free way doesn't guarantee acceptance, and delays the date of your website being added.

Dir.Yahoo.com is another directory of websites. This one has a much higher rate of visitation than any other, but is relatively expensive at $300 per year to list.

Stumbleupon.com, delicious.com, and mixx.com are all social bookmarking websites in which you can submit websites for others to comment on, and vote on. Digg.com is for uploading news stories, and is a very similar concept.

I hope this helps. If it does, please vote for this answer.|||You can have SEO in basic three steps:

How can i improve my pagerank distribution on google?

I have a site on page 1 of Google, sometimes as low as page 4 for some keywords, and from the webmaster tools it shows my pagerank distribtuion is very low. What does this mean, how can i fix it and will that improve my sites ranking?|||Frequently update your website, and create unique content.|||Page ranking is all SEO = Search Engine Optimisation.

The best %26amp; simplest way to higher / highest page ranking is

Firstly have strong keywords that are also used in your text, ensuring your keywords are relevant to you website.

Secondly is links to other website not necessarily of the same content as your own but from websites that the the "google spiders" considers to be of popular interest.

Thirdly, try not to use images at the top of you page as spiders and not read images, only text.|||write lots of good content and get reputable sites to link into yours, many sites will also want a link from yours too (reciprocal linking) but make sure you dont link to sites which only offer ads or other links

Please help me to find the right keywords for my website SEO?

Hi!

I`we read a lot of articles about SEO and in most of them I found out that the most important step in SEO is to find the best keywords for my site and to optimize my site for those keywords. But I don`t know how to find these keywords: I`we tried to use google adwords keywords tool and market samurai (trial), but useless...

My biggest problem is that I can`t find out a good main keyword that describes my site:

My site is www.tutorialswindow.com - It`s a tutorial indexing site where people are coming to submit or to read tutorials.

Please give me some keyword suggestions

Thanks in advice!|||I think what you need to do first is sit down and think - in general, what is my site about? I mean yes it is about tutorials but in general what kind of tutorials do I have on my site?

Technology tutorials, computer tutorials, it tutorials, free computer tutorials (free is a good term to capitalize on)...

Something simple that a user would type in on Google to find something you offer. - This is called finding a semantic core of your keywords - the foundation of your keyword research. Use keyword tools to get more ideas on these. Google Adwords tool will also allow you to type in your URL and get basic keyword suggestions to get started.

Find 2 or 3 core terms and write your site copy with those core terms in mind.

Then branch out and use keyword tools to find keywords for various sections of your site. PHP tutorials, free photoshop tutorials, how to use photoshop, - you get the point.

If you have a technology tutorial site ranked well on Google and want to find out what keywords they target, you can use backlink checker tools like SpyGlass to find their backlinks and see what anchor text is used in those backlinks - if the site is done with SEO in mind (which it probably is because it's ranked on top of Google), this anchor text will tell you all about competitor keywords.

great site idea btw :)|||You have a tough case there, your topics are so diverse, it's hard for search engines to recognize any predominant subject.

Did you know you can enter a page url into the google Keyword Tool, it thinks you home page is primarily about website design, with a smattering of references to pshop and flash too.

A main keyword is not that vital. Although the term Tutorial or perhaps How To is common to much of your content, ranking for Tutorial alone will be tough. Unless your looking at resale evaluation, getting a high pr on your home page may not be essential. If you had a couple of paragraph introductory text on the home page, you could stuff in a couple of "tutorial" variations, which might help ranking for the general term.

I'm thinking you will have to seo at least each of your categories separately, you might add to your subindex pages, like Android-tutorials, an introductory paragraph containing the keywords for that section. Looks like your urls reinforce the menu structure, some SEOs would advice you to eliminate the dashes, seems that the engines can parse out the words if run together, some believe dashes, like in crap domain names may have a bad connotation, probably not a big deal.

You might go back to the keyword tools and find the most searched phrasing for your categories, perhaps you would replace some of your menu item names, or at least use one of the longer tail keywords in the subsection menu page header.

Of course the anchor text used in external links to the site will help establish the keyword rankings.

- Google AdWords Keyword Tool

- Related searches in Google, Bing and Ask

- Autocomplete feature in major SE's

- SemRush

- Keyword Discovery

- Wordtracker

- Word Mixer

Some other things to consider when doing keyword research:

- capitalize on misspelled words especially if the term is hard to spell

- look for keyword insights offline - pick up a trade magazine for your niche and get keyword insights from there

- pay attention to the number of searches and number of sites competing for the same keyword (found on Google keyword tool or Rank Tracker tool -see below)

- an even better approach to keyword research would be to calculate a KEI ratio for a keyword:

Search Volume (squared) / # of Competitors. This ratio helps you find most profitable SEO keywords that are popular among searchers yet relatively easy to rank well for.

Here is the kicker: you can use all the above keyword research methods, calculate KEI and then do keyword rank checks for your site with Rank Tracker software tool.

I won't post any links for the tool. You may wonder why...

A. for the sake of avoiding spam

B. I am sure you can find it online - its pretty popular and usually comes up in top search results.

Business Website

http://www.internationalarticle.com|||I checked out your site, and I must say that it was pretty hard for me to understand what is the purpose of your site.

To have good SEO, there are a lot of basic things that will help, such as updating it regularly. With most search engines, key words are only effective if they are also listed on your site and relevant to the content on your site. I had a hard time figuring out what those should be. "Tutorial" should definitely be one; however, that is a less straight-forward term and not always intuitive. Any other versions of that word that are commonly utilized in your industry would work as well. Here are a few others I think may work, based on your website: "photoshop," "business applications," and "programming."|||Tiarta gave some good advice above, although I do have an issue with the keywords he suggested. you will never ever rank with the search engines for keywords such as "programming" or "photoshop". The competition is too great regardless of how many SEO experts you hire. And those terms are too broad also, you need more defined keywords that will bring targeted traffic. I am at a loss as to why Market Samurai did not help you. It is one of my main keyword search tools. I will say that I do my keyword search long before I build a site or choose a product/service to promote.
